AeroVentures Disclaimer
Flight instruction is not
provided by AeroVentures. Instruction can be arranged with Club Members who instruct. A list of instructors who are Club Members are at the bottom. It is up to each individual club member to contact prospective instructors. Only Club approved instructors may give instruction in Club Aircraft.
Independent Flight Instructors
Our instructor members train our club members under FAR Part 61 which addresses regulations pertaining to flight instruction for most independent flight instructors and flying clubs. All of our instructor members are certified as Instrument Instructors as well.
While the minimum time for a Private license is 40 hours, the average time is closer to 65 hours. The more often a student is able to fly, the fewer number of hours that he/she can expect it will take to fulfill the requirements.
Training is also available for private pilots taking the next steps, becoming instrument or commercially rated. While a private pilot gains confidence and experience building their hours after achieving the private rating, that pilot begins to discover some of the limitations as they fly longer distances in more diverse weather conditions. The instrument and commercial ratings will allow a pilot much more flexibility and safety as they progress.
Per Lessons.com - flight costs per hour can vary significantly.
The site provides a number of hints that reduce overall instruction costs, including:
- Club membership,
- Block airplane rentals,
- More studying and preparation on the ground (the plane is a less than ideal classroom),
- Regular flying, and
- Regular use of flight simulators (Microsoft/X-Plane/BATD/AATD/etc.) - especially in pre-flight preparation.
Flight Lesson Costs
According to Lessons.com the national averages for private pilot flight lessons
costs $110 to $125 per hour for the airplane rental and $45 per hour for the flight instructor's time.
Low-end costs can be slightly lower, and higher-end costs can easily exceed $250-$300 per hour.
On average, it will cost approximately $10,574 to earn your private pilot license.
Flying clubs help lower the costs of flying in great part because club members divide the total fixed costs the aircraft among a large membership base.
Private Instruction through instructor club members:
Market costs - approximately $50/hr - set by your instructor
Instrument Instruction through instructor club members:
Market costs - approx $60/hr - set by your instructor
Note that hourly fuel and aircraft expenses are not included in Flight instruction prices.
All ground instruction is arranged through your flight instructor.
